For a real experience of Spain, the village of Trabuco has several guest houses in the immediate vicinity with facilities such as swimming pools and Jacuzzis to help you enjoy your stay.

These are available from as little as 25 euros per person per night and include a full breakfast to prepare you for the day ahead!

Why not bring partners with you to make a holiday of your time here, as there are loads of activities for non-riding guests to take advantage of.

There are stables nearby where you can go horse-riding and mountain bikes are also available to hire.

There is a professional tennis coach nearby and an 18 hole golf course within 30 minutes drive.

In addition to these “strenuous” activities, the village boasts many bars and restaurants, mainly Spanish but there are also a few English owned ones if you’re unsure about using the lingo!

Most visitors here are amazed at the difference between the pace of life here and that on the coast that they may have previously experienced – it could be a different country. Peace, beautiful views and a feeling of safety are central to the Pueblo lifestyle and it’s a feeling we’re sure you’ll enjoy, however long your stay.

Food and drink is normally much cheaper here than on the coast and whether you’re staying self-catering or at one of our recommended B&B’s your £ will s-t-r-e-t-c-h further!

Cortijo La Nava

Cortijo La Nava is a self-catering holiday accommodation in a traditional Andalucia Cortijo located in the Spanish countryside between the towns of Villanueva del Trabuco and Archidona, only 45 minutes from both Malaga and Granada Airports.

The Cortijo is a beautifully restored typical rustic Spanish farmhouse and granary, surrounded by rolling olive groves, mountains and spectacular scenery

Offering accommodation for couples, families and large groups - Cortijo La Nava is the perfect Spanish getaway. On arrival, you can immediately enjoy a slower pace of life and spend your days relaxing by the pool, swimming, playing Boule or watching the world go by with a glass of cold beer in the village square.

For those of you with a little more energy, it is the perfect location for exploring off-road with Andalucian Trail Tours.

The area is rich in wild life, including many species of birds such as eagles, blue magpies and hoopoes. Also we are ideally situated to explore all of the main tourist and historical sites that Andalucia has to offer including Antequera, Granada, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba.

The Farmhouse and Granary are available to hire all year round and your comfort is assured on cooler winter evenings by the full central heating. So, why not make the most of cheaper flights and enjoy the winter sun and activities including skiing in the Sierra Nevada?

The Farmhouse sleeps 10 and the Granary sleeps 4/6. Both have been sympathetically restored, taking care to retain original character and charm. Our beautiful swimming pool and garden provide a relaxed and secluded atmosphere with sun loungers, tables, chairs, umbrellas, seating areas, boule terrain and barbeque for your use and enjoyment. Your friendly hosts Vicky and David Clark are on hand to help in any way in order to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.

A complimentary 'welcome pack' is provided in both House and Granary. For those with young children, we offer free use of High Chair and Cot.

Casa Galesa

This is the recommended choice for those wanting to stay in the village itself. No hire car is needed as it’s an easy walk to both the start of the tour and to all the bars, restaurants and shops in the main square and beyond.

Ray and Melinda are your hosts and they’ve done a great job of converting their traditional Spanish townhouse into a quality B&B, using the best linens and furnishings to make your stay extremely welcoming and comfortable.

There are currently 2 double rooms, 1 single and 1 twin, plus 2 separate bathrooms with luxury showers.

There is also a self-contained apartment on the ground floor being converted and due to open in August – this will have 1 twin bedroom and a pull-out double bed in the lounge so can cater for four.

There is a newly finished roof terrace offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountainous countryside, complete with a large patio table and chairs and numerous sun loungers. Part of the terrace can be covered by a large awning to shade from the heat of the sun if required.

There is internet access for those of you that need to keep in touch with the UK and a fully stocked bar for those that want to forget it! They also have a separate TV room with DVD player and are happy to record MotoGP or WSB etc for you to watch in the evening over a beer!

As well as a large range of breakfasts (including a mammoth full English if required) Ray also offers a large evening meal menu, all with drinks included and very reasonably priced.
